Born in El Salvador, Jennifer is proud to be Salvadoran-American. She carries her culture everywhere she goes and loves to share it with everyone! Jennifer began her academic career on beautiful Galveston Island, where she holds fond memories of attending Rosenberg Elementary School, the first school she attended in the United States. She graduated from Ball High School in 1997, attended Galveston College, and then transferred to the University of St. Thomas in Houston. Jennifer graduated with a bachelor's in Bilingual Education with a concentration in Mathematics in 2003 and returned to UST to obtain her master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 2012.
She began teaching in Galveston ISD in 2004 and taught on the Island for a decade. In 2011, her life was blessed as she entered a new stage in her life, and married her husband, Michael. She has been married for 12 years and has two amazing children.
In 2014, she made the move across the causeway and transferred to Clear Creek ISD, where she presently teaches elementary-aged students, in the Dual Language program. Her passion for working with students has always called her to help provide leadership opportunities for students, which is why she loves being a Student Council Advisor. Her 19 years of teaching have brought her many blessings; she has had the opportunity to meet many amazing students and families. Jennifer owes her achievements to God and her family. They have always supported her and have believed in her.
